In Colombia with Embera and Nasa indigenous friends - Chronicle by Andoni Barreña
First publication date: 12/06/2024
In a chronicle written in Garabide, Andoni Barreña tells us about his stay in Colombia in April 2024, first in Chocó and then in Cauca.
He spent the first few days at the Technological University of Chocó in the capital, Quibdó, to talk about language revitalisation strategies. In this area, Enbera is spoken by a community of more than 100,000 people.
Andoni spent the following days in Cauca. Garabide has been working for some time with the Nasa community on methodologies to revitalise the Nasa Yuwe language. This time they asked for help from the member of the Chair Andoni to reflect on a natural grammar.
