Brief description:

ARCAS will develop an evaluation and design methodology aimed at the rehabilitation of buildings and groupings of collective buildings of social interest housing with the objective of addressing energy poverty and promoting sustainable rehabilitation, energy efficiency and health in the Sudoe territory. The project is based on the integration of three research axes: Autonomy / energy efficiency, Social quality / Energy poverty and Air quality / health to determine the optimal relationship between the 3 controlled axes and obtain the best energy efficiency controlled social quality citizens welfare.

ARCAS is based on the use of similar climatology in the Sudoe space for the development of a tool that allows, through key indicators, the architecture design of connected buildings to maximize energy efficiency, air quality and thus promote social welfare, making use of the best available techniques, including renewables. This project will combine efforts for the development of strategies and measures that facilitate national, regional and local governments to develop policies for the rehabilitation of collective housing buildings of great autonomy and energy efficiency (axis1), with a healthy air quality for building occupants (axis 3) and reducing economic poverty so important in many European countries (axis 2).

ARCAS products are available and reproducible in the participant public and private institutions in the project and will be especially useful for professional associations, manufacturers, builders and for national, regional and local public administrations. The action plans that will be developed in an integrated manner on the three axes of the research project by the ARCAS beneficiaries, in collaboration with the associated partners ARCAS, a key element that ensures the transfer of knowledge throughout the Sudoe territory, as well as the future sustainability of the ARCAS methodology.
