Presentation
EHUrOPE, the International R&D Office, was created in 2007 following the initiative of the Vice-Rectorate for Research to strengthen the participation of the research community in international programmes.
Functions of EHUrOPE
EHUrOPE carries out the following activities, both pre-award and post-award, within the scope of its responsibilities.
Information and promotion
- Determine the areas of knowledge in which UPV/EHU research teams have expertise, in order to identify funding opportunities.
- Provide information about programmes and calls that fit specific research interests.
- Organize activities: information events, workshops, etc.
- Represent UPV/EHU research groups in international InfoDays, technological platforms and other international forums.
Assesment
- Assess in the searching for international funding for the Project ideas.
- Assess of the convenience of the project ideas within the calls/topics.
Economic support for the promotion of the participation on international projects
- Support for consultancy
- Support for travels: meetings for Project preparation, platform meeting, participation on infodays.
Support for proposal preparation
- Advice on legal, administrative and financial issues.
- Prepare the Budget following the EC and UPV/EHU rules.
- Provide support during the writing process on the non-scientific part.
Negotiation stage
- Provide support during the negotiation stage and in making possible changes.
- Organize the internal kick-off meeting: PI, department, economic reporting unit and economic management unit.
Project Management
- Administrative management of the projects: writing of agreement and ammendments, hiring of researchers, advertising the project on the webpage, etc.
- Manage budgeting: execute expenditure, perform financial monitoring, prepare situation reports, and prepare documentation for justifications and audits.
