Although these activities are not included in the Basque Culture program, in your free time, you can enjoy the broad cultural and leisure offer of Donostia-San Sebastián on your own. For example, you might embark for a San Sebastian Bay boat trip, which, departing from the city’s fishing port, will allow you to discover the different points of interest on the Donostia-San Sebastián coast: Mount Igeldo, the Comb of the Wind, the Miramar Palace…etc.

You might take a ride on the funicular to climb Mount Igeldo and enjoy the amusement park located on its top and the best views of the city and La Concha Bay, or take a lookinside the Tabakalera, a centre for artistic and cultural creation. It also counts with an interesting gastronomic offer (out of the typical locations in the Old Quarter or Gros neighborhood), and an observation deck on the 5th floor with an excellent views of the riverside of the city. The nearby Cristina Enea Park is also a must-see and a relaxing shelter in hot days.

The first two Sundays of September the traditional boat races are celebrated on the Concha Bay. The regatta has been celebrated since 1879 and on these particular days the streets near the port in the Old Quarter fill with cheerful and colorful crowd of the supporters of the different teams.
