zure oinen urratsak ditut begiratzen nire begi niniak legez.

Me humillo y me postro ante ti, santón sagrado, y contemplo las huellas de tus pies como las niñas de mis ojos.

Je m'humilie devant toi, sacré santon, et je me prosterne: je regarde les vestiges de tes pieds comme la prunelle de mes yeux.

I humble myself before thee, sacred Santon, and prostrate myself upon the earth: I regard the prints of thy footsteps as the apple of my eye.

Hain da handia zure saindutasuna, non iruditzen zaidan gure Profeta sainduaren bihotza daukazula;

Tanta es tu santidad, que se me figura que tienes el corazón de nuestro santo Profeta;

¿Cómo no te he de honrar yo, que de nuestros doctores he sabido que hasta entre los infieles tienen los derviches cierto carácter de santidad que los hace respetar de los verdaderos creyentes, y que ha escogido Dios en todos los ángulos de la tierra almas más puras que las otras, separándolas del mundo impío, para que con mortificaciones y fervientes oraciones suspendieran su enojo que a tantos pueblos rebeldes amenaza?

Et comment ne t'honorerais-je pas, moi qui ai appris de nos docteurs que les dervis, même infidèles, ont toujours un caractère de sainteté qui les rend respectables aux vrais croyants: et que Dieu s'est choisi dans tous les coins de la terre des âmes plus pures que les autres, qu'il a séparées du monde impie, afin que leurs mortifications et leurs prières ferventes suspendissent sa colère prête à tomber sur tant de peuples rebelles?

Eskubide publikoaz ez dut inoiz hitz egiten entzun Gizarteen etorkia zehatz-mehatz aztertzen hasi gabe, irrigarri iruditzen zaidana.

Siempre que he oído hablar de derecho público, he visto que comenzaban investigando atentamente cuál era el origen de las sociedades, cosa que me parece ridicula.

Je n'ai jamais ouï parler du droit public, qu'on n'ait commencé par rechercher soigneusement quelle est l'origine des sociétés; ce qui me paraît ridicule.

I never heard any body talk of the law of nations, but he carefully begun with inquiring into the origin of society; which appears ridiculous to me.

Gizonek elkar bilatuko ez balute, elkarri bizkar eman eta ihesi eginen baliote, orduan bai zioa galdetu beharko litzatekeela eta bilatu zergatik dauden aldendurik. Baina denak elkarri lotuak jaiotzen dira;

El ilimitado poder de nuestros excelsos sultanes, que no conoce otra regla que él mismo, no engendra más monstruos que este arte indigno que se esfuerza en doblegar la justicia que es tan inflexible.
