2007tik aurrera Medikuntza eta Odontologia Fakultateko irakaslea naiz Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatean (UPV/EHU). Nire dozentzia ondoko irakasgaietan ematen dut: Medical Genetics, Ikerketa Biomedikorako Sarrera eta Ikerketa Proiektua. Horrez gain, graduondoko dozentziari dagokionez, Molecular Bases of Cell Proliferation, Differentiation and Death irakasgaia eman eta kordinatzen dut, UPV/EHUketa Cantabria Unibertsitateak batera eskeintzen duten Biologia Molekularra eta Biomedikuntza Masterrean.

UPV/EHUra etorri aurretik (2001-2006) Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam-go Onkologia Medikuko sailean irakatsi nuen. Bertan Onkologia Masterrean parte hartu nuen eta ikasleen lanak zuzendu nituen.

Ikertzaile-profila

1998an Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatean (UPV/EHU) doktore gradua lortu nuen "Factores genéticos en la carcinogénesis cervical inducida por el virus HPV" tesiarekin. Tesia bukatu ostean Eusko Jaurlaritzaren Doktorego osteko beka lortuta Sydney-ko Westmead Institute for Cancer Research-era joan nintzen ikertzera. Bederatzi urtez minbizaren transformazioaren inguruko prozezu molekularrak ikertzen aritu nintzen hainbat herritako ikerketa zentruetan, Herbeheretan, EEBBn eta Australian. 50 ikerketa artikulu baino gehiago argitaratu ditut  eta 4 tesi zuzendu ditut eta beste bi zuzentzen ari naiz.

2007 urtean UPV/EHUra bueltatu eta gero Euskadiko Zientzia eta Teknologia Sistemara batu nintzen. MICINN eta Eusko Jaurlaritzako Saiotek eta Etortek programak eta unibertsitateko proiektuei esker minbiziaren prozesu molekularrak aztertzen dituen ikerketa lerro bat garatu dut. Gure lana proteinen ubikitinazioan eta garraio nukleozioplasmikoan zentratzen da. Gure helburua minbiziaren osaketarako zuzendutako terapia berriak garatzea da.

UPV/EHUko Agente Biologikoen eta Genetikoki Eraldatutako Organismoen Ikerketetarako Etika Batzordeko kidea, eta Asociación Española de Investigación sobre el Cáncer (ASEICA) elkarteko juntakidea naiz.

Ikerketa talde nazional nahiz internazionalekin lankidetzan dihardut eta gure taldea ‘European COST Action (Proteastasis)' delakoaren parte da. Talde hau berriki jarri da martxan eta ubikitinazioarekin erlazionaturiko prozesuen azterketan parte hartzen duten ikerketa taldeez osatuta dago.
