Presentation
The UMPI (University Management for Performance Improvement) group started its work officially in January, 2015, although its members had been working on and investigating concepts closely connected with educational innovation and on improving the teaching-learning process for many years.
UMPI was founded due to a group of university lecturers' shared interest, based on different teaching strategies and methodologies: the need to evaluate students' performance.
The concept of performance in the current context must be multi-dimensional and examine not only knowledge but also the acquisition of skills which are both specific and transversal, the students' satisfaction and connection with the learning process and with the institution itself (engagement).
Our work is carried out mainly in the Faculty of the University of Economics and Business at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and, thanks to that, we have access to research into educational innovation in this specialised area.
