The UPV/EHU is committed to considering social, environmental and ethical criteria when purchasing products and to including those criteria when contracting services. It therefore calls for not only the quality and price but also the social and environmental impact to be taken into account when selecting products and services.

Furthermore, actions have been implemented in recent years to drive the preferential supply and consumption of local products and fair-trade ones on the campus and to provide the university community with training in the sphere of responsible consumption.
