Biography
María Josefina Mariné received her Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Buenos Aires (2018). During 2016 and 2022, she developed her professional career in Argentina in the R&D area in different multinational mass consumption companies. In 2023, she obtained a Master’s Degree in Renewable Materials Engineering at School of Engineering of Gipuzkoa of the UPV/EHU. For some time, she worked as a researcher in the Industrial Organization Department of Tecnun-University of Navarra in the field of circular economy. In May 2024 she joined the group "Materials + Technologies" (GMT) in the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department of the UPV/EHU, after gaining a predoctoral FPI grant funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. She is currently working on her doctoral thesis under the supervision of Dr. Arantxa Eceiza and Dr. Nagore Gabilondo.
Research
She is currently carrying out her PhD thesis on GMT group. Her research is focused on the development of new formulations of isocyanate-free polyurethanes (NIPUs) suitable to be processed by electrospinning for the preparation of polymeric nanofibers platforms. The formulations can be functionalized through click chemistry reactions, providing specific chemical and physical properties to such platforms.
