‘Materials + Technologies' Group was founded by Professor Iñaki Mondragon Egaña in 1988. Starting from a few motivated teachers and as a result of their hard work and continuous effort, during all these years the Group has grown and trained number of researchers. Nowadays, the Group consists of near thirty teachers and researchers.

After more than 30 years the Group has become a leading group in materials science, willing to adapt to the new challenges set by economic and sociocultural changes. The Group takes part in scientific events, is linked to different research networks and ready to collaborate with other research groups and in a close cooperation with the industry.

After the loss of its founder in 2012 the Group works to keep his enthusiasm for science alive.
