The Framework Programme has proven to be an effective instrument for promoting R&D&I in Europe and represents a great opportunity for the internationalisation of UPV/EHU research and innovation.

Horizon 2020 had the challenge of contributing to the achievement of the objectives established in the Europe 2020 Strategy and the creation of the European Research Area, objectives that are endorsed by the European States and regions.

Brief description: Focusing on policy support and investments in significant national and regional priorities, the Research and Innovation Strategies for Smart Specialisation (RIS3) assists technological and practical innovation and encourages private sector investment. The EU-funded ADAGIO project will increase the research and innovation capacity and high-quality human resources of the regions of New Aquitaine and Euskadi in the frame of RIS3, European cross-border strategies, and the research strategy and talent attraction of the Euroregion New Aquitaine – Euskadi – Navarre. The project aims to integrate postdoctoral talent in the advanced manufacturing field and allow 15 experienced researchers to perform their excellent research projects and acquire transnational mobility experience.
