APERT research group of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) has obtained a project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation for the development of Advanced Power Converters Topologies for Electric Vehicles.

In this 3-year project, the most significant elements of automotive power converters and their control will be investigated.

The main objective of the project is the integral development of the power control unit based on WBG semiconductors and rare-earth free and fault-tolerant PMa-SynRM multiphase technologies for the automotive sector.

The proposed solutions will provide future electric vehicles with higher power density, higher efficiency, high switching frequency operation capability and fault-tolerant operation.
