Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off.

Et Abraham dit à ses serviteurs: Restez ici avec l'âne; moi et le jeune homme, nous irons jusque-là pour adorer, et nous reviendrons auprès de vous.

And Abraham said to his young men, "Stay here with the donkey; the lad and I will go yonder and worship, and we will come back to you."

Abraham prit le bois pour l'holocauste, le chargea sur son fils Isaac, et porta dans sa main le feu et le couteau. Et ils marchèrent tous deux ensemble.

So Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid [it] on Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife, and the two of them went together.

But Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said, "My father!" And he said, "Here I am, my son." Then he said, "Look, the fire and the wood, but where [is] the lamb for a burnt offering?"

And Abraham said, "My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering." So the two of them went together.

Then they came to the place of which God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and placed the wood in order; and he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, upon the wood.

Puis Abraham étendit la main, et prit le couteau, pour égorger son fils.

And Abraham stretched out his hand and took the knife to slay his son.

Baina Jaunaren aingeruak dei egin zion zerutik: -Abraham! Abraham! -Hemen nauzu! -erantzun zuen Abrahamek.

Entonces el ángel de Jehová lo llamó desde el cielo: -- ¡Abraham, Abraham! Él respondió: -- Aquí estoy.

Alors l'ange de l'Éternel l'appela des cieux, et dit: Abraham ! Abraham ! Et il répondit: Me voici!

But the Angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, "Abraham, Abraham!" So he said, "Here I am."

Aingeruak, orduan: -Geldi esku hori! Ez egin kalterik mutikoari! Orain badakit Jainkoari begirune diozula, ez baitiozu zeure seme bakarra ere ukatu.

El ángel le dijo: -- No extiendas tu mano sobre el muchacho ni le hagas nada, pues ya sé que temes a Dios, por cuanto no me rehusaste a tu hijo, tu único hijo.

L'ange dit: N'avance pas ta main sur l'enfant, et ne lui fais rien; car je sais maintenant que tu crains Dieu, et que tu ne m'as pas refusé ton fils, ton unique.

And He said, "Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only [son,] from Me."

Jaso zituen begiak Abrahamek, ingurura begiratu eta bere eskuinean ahari bat ikusi zuen sasi artean adarretatik kateatua. Hartu eta erre-oparitzat eskaini zuen bere semearen ordez.

Entonces alzó Abraham sus ojos y vio a sus espaldas un carnero trabado por los cuernos en un zarzal; fue Abraham, tomó el carnero y lo ofreció en holocausto en lugar de su hijo.

Abraham leva les yeux, et vit derrière lui un bélier retenu dans un buisson par les cornes; et Abraham alla prendre le bélier, et l'offrit en holocauste à la place de son fils.

Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind [him was] a ram caught in a thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

Abrahamek leku hari "Jaunak du hornitzen" ezarri zion izen, eta gaur egun ere hala dio jendeak: "Mendian Jaunak du hornitzen".

Y llamó Abraham a aquel lugar "Jehová proveerá". Por tanto se dice hoy: "En el monte de Jehová será provisto".

Abraham donna à ce lieu le nom de Jehova-Jiré. C'est pourquoi l'on dit aujourd'hui: À la montagne de l'Éternel il sera pourvu.

And Abraham called the name of the place, The-LORD-Will-Provide; as it is said [to] this day, "In the Mount of The LORD it shall be provided."

Then the Angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time out of heaven,

y le dijo: -- Por mí mismo he jurado, dice Jehová, que por cuanto has hecho esto y no me has rehusado a tu hijo, tu único hijo,

et dit: Je le jure par moi-même, parole de l'Éternel ! parce que tu as fait cela, et que tu n'as pas refusé ton fils, ton unique,

and said: "By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only [son -- ]

Oparo bedeinkatuko zaitut eta zure ondorengoak zeruko izarrak eta itsasertzeko hondarra bezain ugari egingo ditut eta etsaien hiriez jabetuko dira.

de cierto te bendeciré y multiplicaré tu descendencia como las estrellas del cielo y como la arena que está a la orilla del mar; tu descendencia se adueñará de las puertas de sus enemigos.

je te bénirai et je multiplierai ta postérité, comme les étoiles du ciel et comme le sable qui est sur le bord de la mer; et ta postérité possédera la porte de ses ennemis.

"blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which [is] on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.

Zure ondorengoen bidez lurreko herri guztiak bedeinkatuko ditut, nire esana bete duzulako".

En tu simiente serán benditas todas las naciones de la tierra, por cuanto obedeciste a mi voz.

Toutes les nations de la terre seront bénies en ta postérité, parce que tu as obéi à ma voix.

"In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."

Orduan, Abraham bere morroiengana itzuli eta elkarrekin Beer-Xebara joan ziren. Hantxe jarri zen Abraham bizitzen.

Regresó Abraham adonde estaban sus siervos, y juntos se levantaron y se fueron a Beerseba. Y habitó Abraham en Beerseba.

Abraham étant retourné vers ses serviteurs, ils se levèrent et s'en allèrent ensemble à Beer-Schéba; car Abraham demeurait à Beer-Schéba.

So Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose and went together to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba.

Now it came to pass after these things that it was told Abraham, saying, "Indeed Milcah also has borne children to your brother Nahor:

Uz, el primogénito; Buz, su hermano; Kemuel, padre de Aram;

Uts, son premier-né, Buz, son frère, Kemuel, père d'Aram,

"Huz his firstborn, Buz his brother, Kemuel the father of Aram,

hau Rebekaren aita izan zen. Zortzi seme hauek eman zizkion Milkak Abrahamen anaia Nahorri.

And Bethuel begot Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.

Sara ehun eta hogeita zazpi urtez bizi izan zen.

Fueron ciento veintisiete los años de la vida de Sara; tantos fueron los años de la vida de Sara.

La vie de Sara fut de cent vingt -sept ans: telles sont les années de la vie de Sara.

Sarah lived one hundred and twenty-seven years; [these were] the years of the life of Sarah.

Kiriat-Arban hil zen, Hebronen alegia, Kanaan lurraldean. Abrahamek dolu egin zuen haren heriotzagatik.

Sara murió en Quiriat-arba (que es Hebrón), en la tierra de Canaán; y vino Abraham a hacer duelo por Sara y a llorarla.

So Sarah died in Kirjath Arba (that [is,] Hebron) in the land of Canaan, and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.

"I [am] a foreigner and a visitor among you. Give me property for a burial place among you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight."

Les fils de Heth répondirent à Abraham, en lui disant:

And the sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him,

-- Óyenos, señor nuestro. Tú eres un príncipe de Dios entre nosotros; sepulta a tu muerta en lo mejor de nuestros sepulcros, pues ninguno de nosotros te negará su sepulcro ni te impedirá que entierres a tu muerta.

Écoute -nous, mon seigneur ! Tu es un prince de Dieu au milieu de nous; enterre ton mort dans celui de nos sépulcres que tu choisiras; aucun de nous ne te refusera son sépulcre pour enterrer ton mort.

"Hear us, my lord: You [are] a mighty prince among us; bury your dead in the choicest of our burial places. None of us will withhold from you his burial place, that you may bury your dead."

Then Abraham stood up and bowed himself to the people of the land, the sons of Heth.

Et il leur parla ainsi: Si vous permettez que j'enterre mon mort et que je l'ôte de devant mes yeux, écoutez -moi, et priez pour moi Éphron, fils de Tsochar,

And he spoke with them, saying, "If it is your wish that I bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and meet with Ephron the son of Zohar for me,

"that he may give me the cave of Machpelah which he has, which [is] at the end of his field. Let him give it to me at the full price, as property for a burial place among you."

Non, mon seigneur, écoute -moi! Je te donne le champ, et je te donne la caverne qui y est. Je te les donne, aux yeux des fils de mon peuple: enterre ton mort.

"No, my lord, hear me: I give you the field and the cave that [is] in it; I give it to you in the presence of the sons of my people. I give it to you. Bury your dead!"

Abrahamek, ordea, hitiarren aurrean ahozpeztu

Entonces Abraham se inclinó delante del pueblo de la tierra

Abraham se prosterna devant le peuple du pays.

Then Abraham bowed himself down before the people of the land;

y respondió a Efrón en presencia del pueblo del lugar, diciendo: -- Antes, si te place, te ruego que me oigas. Yo pagaré el precio de la heredad; acéptalo y sepultaré en ella a mi muerta.

Et il parla ainsi à Éphron, en présence du peuple du pays: Écoute -moi, je te prie ! Je donne le prix du champ: accepte -le de moi; et j'y enterrerai mon mort.

and he spoke to Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying, "If you [will give it,] please hear me. I will give you money for the field; take [it] from me and I will bury my dead there."

Et Éphron répondit à Abraham, en lui disant:

And Ephron answered Abraham, saying to him,

"My lord, listen to me; the land [is worth] four hundred shekels of silver. What [is] that between you and me? So bury your dead."

Bat etorri zen Abraham Efronekin, eta zilarrezko laurehun txanpon ordaindu zizkion, merkatariek erabili ohi duten dirutan.

And Abraham listened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed out the silver for Ephron which he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, currency of the merchants.

So the field of Ephron which [was] in Machpelah, which [was] before Mamre, the field and the cave which [was] in it, and all the trees that [were] in the field, which [were] within all the surrounding borders, were deeded

to Abraham as a possession in the presence of the sons of Heth, before all who went in at the gate of his city.

Kanaan lurraldean, Mamre eta Hebronen aurrez aurre dagoen Makpelako soro ondoko harpean ehortzi zuen Abrahamek bere emazte Sara.

Después de esto, Abraham sepultó a Sara, su mujer, en la cueva de la heredad de Macpela, al oriente de Mamre (que es Hebrón), en la tierra de Canaán.

And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah, before Mamre (that [is,] Hebron) in the land of Canaan.

So the field and the cave that [is] in it were deeded to Abraham by the sons of Heth as property for a burial place.

Ya Abraham era viejo, bien avanzado en años; y Jehová había bendecido en todo a Abraham.

Abraham était vieux, avancé en âge; et l'Éternel avait béni Abraham en toute chose.

Now Abraham was old, well advanced in age; and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.

Etxeko bere morroi zaharrenari, zuen guztiaren arduradunari, esan zion Abrahamek: -Ezarri eskua nire izterpean.

Dijo Abraham a un criado suyo, el más viejo de su casa, quien gobernaba todo lo que él tenía: -- Pon ahora tu mano debajo de mi muslo

Abraham dit à son serviteur, le plus ancien de sa maison, l'intendant de tous ses biens: Mets, je te prie, ta main sous ma cuisse;

So Abraham said to the oldest servant of his house, who ruled over all that he had, "Please, put your hand under my thigh,

Zin egidazu Jaunarengatik, zeru-lurren Jainkoarengatik, ez duzula nire semearentzat emazterik hartuko bizi naizen lurralde honetako kanaandarren alabetatik,

y júrame por Jehová, Dios de los cielos y Dios de la tierra, que no tomarás para mi hijo mujer de las hijas de los cananeos, entre los cuales yo habito,

et je te ferai jurer par l'Éternel, le Dieu du ciel et le Dieu de la terre, de ne pas prendre pour mon fils une femme parmi les filles des Cananéens au milieu desquels j'habite,

"and I will make you swear by the LORD, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell;

El criado le respondió: -- Quizá la mujer no quiera venir conmigo a esta tierra. ¿Debo, entonces, volver y llevar a tu hijo a la tierra de donde saliste?

Le serviteur lui répondit: Peut-être la femme ne voudra -t-elle pas me suivre dans ce pays-ci; devrai -je mener ton fils dans le pays d'où tu es sorti ?

And the servant said to him, "Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I take your son back to the land from which you came?"

Abrahamek erantzun: -Ez eraman hara nire semea.

Abraham le dijo: -- ¡Cuidado con llevar allá a mi hijo!

Abraham lui dit: Garde-toi d'y mener mon fils !

But Abraham said to him, "Beware that you do not take my son back there.

Zeruko Jainko Jaunak nire aitaren etxetik eta nire ahaideetatik hartu ninduen eta zin eginez agindu zidan: "Lurralde hau zure ondorengoei emango diet". Hain zuzen, berak bidaliko dizu aingerua aurretik, handik nire semearentzat emaztea hartu ahal izan dezazun.

Jehová, Dios de los cielos, que me tomó de la casa de mi padre y de la tierra de mi parentela, y que me habló y me juró, diciendo: "A tu descendencia daré esta tierra", él enviará su ángel delante de ti, para que tú traigas de allá mujer para mi hijo.

L'Éternel, le Dieu du ciel, qui m'a fait sortir de la maison de mon père et de ma patrie, qui m'a parlé et qui m'a juré, en disant: Je donnerai ce pays à ta postérité, lui-même enverra son ange devant toi; et c'est de là que tu prendras une femme pour mon fils.

"The LORD God of heaven, who took me from my father's house and from the land of my family, and who spoke to me and swore to me, saying, 'To your descendants I give this land,' He will send His angel before you, and you shall take a wife for my son from there.

Si la femme ne veut pas te suivre, tu seras dégagé de ce serment que je te fais faire. Seulement, tu n'y mèneras pas mon fils.

"And if the woman is not willing to follow you, then you will be released from this oath; only do not take my son back there."

So the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and swore to him concerning this matter.

Le serviteur prit dix chameaux parmi les chameaux de son seigneur, et il partit, ayant à sa disposition tous les biens de son seigneur. Il se leva, et alla en Mésopotamie, à la ville de Nachor.

Then the servant took ten of his master's camels and departed, for all his master's goods [were in] his hand. And he arose and went to Mesopotamia, to the city of Nahor.
