Ismael Etxeberria-Agiriano holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics, a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Systems Engineering, and a Degree in Computer Engineering from Mondragon Unibertsitatea. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from Staffordshire University in the United Kingdom.

His primary areas of interest include Artificial Intelligence, Applied Ethics, Information Security, Distributed Systems, ICTs, and Prehistory. He has served as a lecturer at both Staffordshire University and Mondragon Unibertsitatea. Additionally, he worked for three years as a consultant for Crédit Lyonnais in Paris, France, and spent another three years developing financial applications before transitioning back to academia. Since 2005, he has been part of the Department of Computer Languages and Systems at the School of Engineering in Vitoria-Gasteiz (UPV/EHU).

Currently, he teaches Languages, Computing, and Intelligent Systems (2nd year) and Information Systems Security Management Systems (3rd year) as part of the Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering in Management and Information Systems. He also lectures on Industrial Cybersecurity in the Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence Applied to Industry and Computer-Assisted Engineering.
