Ignacia Arruabarrena
Ignacia Arruabarrena is a PhD in Psychology and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Social Psychology in the Faculty of Psychology at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where she teaches the degree in Psychology. Director of the Master's Degree in Early Intervention at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU.
Member of the Crim-Ap research group, her research and professional activity is in the field of violence against children, particularly in the family. Since 1986 she has carried out basic and applied research activities, evaluation of plans, programmes and services, writing of handbooks, action protocols and technical instruments, advice to public administrations, and university and professional training. She has directed and worked for ten years on a treatment programme for families with serious child protection problems. In recent years she has worked on the pilot implementation and evaluation of evidence-based programmes in child protection. She has carried out different works related to violence and sexual exploitation of children. She has published in specialized journals and is co-author of two books and author and collaborator in different technical publications on the subject.
