Library services
Borrowing
Undergraduate students can take out 7 books at the same time for 7 calendar days. The catalogue provides with access to the collections of all the UPV/EHU libraries. You can collect and return your loans at any of them.
Renewal
The system automatically renews your loans up to 3 times. At the same time, it cancels those renewals if another user has reserved any of your borrowed items.
Reserves
You can reserve a book through the catalogue, both if it is available and it has been lent to another user. When it is ready, you will be sent a message to your university email. Please note that in the case of “Short Loan" books, you can only reserve those that belong to your library, even though you can collect them at a different one of your choice.
Group study rooms and individual reading places
Most of the documentary collection of UPV/EHU can be freely consulted in our 13 libraries, which collectively have 4,105 reading seats and 553 computers. Reading places can be booked using the QR4Services application at some of the UPV/EHU libraries; a quota of places is allocated to the app, while the remaining places are on a first-come first served basis. As regards the group study rooms, they must be booked using the app at those libraries that use this system.
Photocopier and Scanner
You can use the scanners in all the libraries free of charge. You have access to photocopiers and printers that you can use with coins, pre-paid cards or using the SarePrint system, which will allow you to print a document from anywhere and collect it at the printing point you select, immediately or later.
Equipment lending (Gauzateka)
The UPV/EHU Libraries, offer a lending service of several devices and accessories for study support (calculators, rulers, mobile phone chargers, etc.). These items can be borrowed at the points where you see the GAUZATEKA sign, for a period of 6 hours, which is not automatically renewable.
WiFi and Remote Access
WiFi is available in all UPV/EHU libraries (eduroam network). You can freely access the catalogue from outside the University, but if you wish to access electronic resources off-campus, you will need to "Sign in".
