The best prices for accomodation in Donostia-San Sebastián are usualy found in websites like trivago.com or booking.com. According to some recent studies the best period for booking is 4-6 weeks before the stay. Some suggestions for hotel search and price comparison are shown in this page.

Donostia-San Sebastián is divided into three beaches: Ondarreta (left), La Concha (center) and Zurriola (right). Ondarreta and La Concha beaches form the Bay of La Concha with the Santa Clara Island in its center.

The conference venue, Centro Carlos Santamaría, is placed in the university district at one kilometer (10-15 minutes walking) from the Ondarreta Beach. We recomend the zone between the beach and the university for your accomodation.

Another interesting zone is the Parte Vieja (Old Town) placed between La Concha Bay and Urumea River and close to the City Hall. Although the place is quite far from the conference venue (3 kilometres, 30-40 minutes walking) it runs though a very pleasant promenade along the Bay and there are plenty of buses conecting both places.

Accomodation in Ondarreta

Accomodation in Ondarreta Beach

This is the recommended part of the city for accomodation during NEXUS 2016. It is the zone between the Centro Carlos Santamaría where the conference will take place and the Ondarreta Beach. The zone features many bars and restaurants.

Hotel NH Collection San Sebastián Aránzazu ****

Wide and comfortable exterior rooms in a hotel with many extras and amenities. Well ubicated near the conference venue. Price usually fluctuate along time in different webs.

Residencia Olarain

This is a students residence, but also used by teachers and visitors. The rooms are basic but exterior, wide, clean and functional. It is very near the conference point and a very interesting place to stay.

Hotel Hesperia Donosti****

Probably one of the best relationships between comfort and price. A very good hotel with great modern rooms, placed 10 minutes walking from the Centro Santamaría, where the conference take place. But consider that it is 10 minutes in the opposite direction to the beach, so you will be further from the center. Anyway, buses stop near the hotel.

Hotel Codina***

A small hotel placed between the Ondarreta Beach and the Conference place. Not luxury, not modern but it is one of the favourite of Spanish tourists because of its privileged place in between the quarter.

Hotel Ezeiza**

A familiar hotel just in front of the beach. Great if you enjoy the seaside. Rooms are in general old fashioned and smaller than other hotels.

Hotel San Sebastián****

Similar hotel than NH Collection Aranzazu. Probably this one has less services and smaller rooms but a better location just some minutes from the beach.

Hotel La Galería San Sebastián**

A hotel from the XIX century with French style. A bit old fashioned but great place in front of the Ondarreta beach.

Hotel Avenida***

Over a map Hotel Avenida looks really close to the Conference venue, but it is tricky; it is placed over a small hill and it takes a long time to get to it. If you want to enjoy a nice view over a hill and don't mind the slope it can be your place, otherwise it is not recommended.

Accomodation in Parte Vieja (Old Town)

The Parte VIeja (Old Town) features many economy hostels and lodging houses inside residential buildings. In general they are clean, safe and allow to feel the mood of the city. Before booking be aware that ocassionally some rooms may be interior, noisy, with common bathroom, without elevator... so check carefully the webs and other users opinions. Accomodation in the City Center and Surrounding Area

There are no dangerous places in the city, so feel free to choose your accomodation wherever you want. But please be aware that an important part of the city is placed over small hills (check Google Maps height map) or not well comunicated with the university (check local bus company dBus).
