2023-2024. Invited Professor. UNAM (Mexico)

José María Matías, Professor at the UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico), made a research stay as invited professor in the UPV/EHU, Bilbao Faculty of Engineering from the 1st September 2023 to 26th January 2024.

During his stay he participated in the development of the methodology of WiFi measurements for the detection of human and machine activity and in the validation of the measurements carried out.

Md. Masum Hossen, a Master degree student from the EMIMEO (Erasmus Master on Innovative Microwave Electronics and Optics), stayed in the TSR Lab from March 2023 to September 2023.

During this stay he worked on the design, simulation and measurement of metamaterial-based antennas, under the supervision of Professors Amaia Arrinda and Marta Fernández.

Ernesto Fontes, a PhD student from the Universitá degli Studi di Cagliari (Italy), made an international predoctoral stay from 18th September 2022 to 17th March 2023 in our research lab in UPV/EHU in Bilbao (Spain), under the supervision of Professors Jon Montalbán and Pablo Angueira.

During this stay he studied artificial intelligence algorithms for the simulation of mobile communication systems in system-level simulation tools (Omnet).

Emmanuel is the one in the middle

Emmanuel Quemar, a student from IMT Atlantique Bretagne-Pays de la Loire (École nationale supérieure Mines-Télécom Atlantique Bretagne-Pays de la Loire), France, made a research stay from 16th April 2018 to 6th July 2018 in our research group in UPV/EHU in Bilbao (Spain), under the supervision of Professor David de la Vega.

During his staying, he was involved in the research about the analysis of the impact of wind farms on different radiocommunciation services. In particular, he worked in the validation of the scattering model developed by the TSR research group for analyzing the impact on terrestrial television in the UHF band, and in the development of a new scattering model for the analysis of the impact on fixed radio links.

Christopher Rubén Reyes López, a PhD student from the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana de Ecuador, UPS university, Guayaquil (Ecuador), made an international predoctoral stay from 6th March 2018 to 4th May 2018 in our research group in UPV/EHU in Bilbao (Spain), under the supervision of Professors Unai Gil and David Guerra.

This second research stay has been focused on planning the measurement campaigns to be developed in order to assess the accuracy of the prediction algorithms. The measurement methodology and data processing procedures have also been defined.

Christopher Rubén Reyes López, a PhD student from the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana de Ecuador, UPS university, Guayaquil (Ecuador), made an international predoctoral stay from 2nd to 20th October 2017 in our research group in UPV/EHU in Bilbao (Spain), under the supervision of Professors Unai Gil and David Guerra.

During his research stay he has been working on innovative algorithms for predicting electromagnetic exposure values due to mobile communications facilities and devices.

Mario Hernández Flores, a PhD student from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM university, Mexico, made an international predoctoral stay from 22nd June 2017 to 15th September 2017 in our research group in UPV/EHU in Bilbao (Spain) under the supervision of Professor Pablo Angueira .

During his research stay he worked on DTV coverage planning in Mexico (ATSC 1.0 standard) and possible implementation of ATSC 3.0 standard in SFN networks.

Caiwei Li, a PhD student from the Beihang University (BUAA), China, made an international predoctoral stay from 1st september 2013 to 22nd february 2014 in our research group in UPV/EHU in Bilbao (Spain) under the supervision of Professor Pablo Angueira.

During her research stay she worked  in the area of theoretical modelling of SFN networks in order to obtain optimal architectures and configurations in the DVB-T2 standard.
