Biografia

With broad experience in teaching languages in different countries, such as the USA, Elizabet is specialized in language teaching in multilingual contexts. She is currently a teacher at the Department of Language and Literature Didactics in the Faculty of Education, Philosophy and Anthropology and in the European Master in Multilingualism and Education (EMME) master of the University of the Basque Country. As member of the DREAM (Donostia Research on Education and Multilingualism) research group at the University of the Basque Country since 2010, Elizabet has worked in various research projects in the field of multilingualism in education. She has participated in international conferences and has published with others articles such as Teachers’ beliefs about multilingualism in a course on translanguaging (2020) and Teachers’ beliefs in multilingual education in the Basque Country and in Friesland (2015) as well as the article “Euskararen eta gaztelaniaren erabilera ingeleseko irakaskuntza-saioetan” (2018). Elizabet has also published various books and chapters with others in the field of language education in multilingual contexts where one of the languages is a minority language in society. She completed her PhD research on Multilingual Education: Teachers’ Beliefs and Language Use in the Classroom in 2017. She is also instructor in pre-service and in-service training for language teachers in Primary and Secondary education.
