Our research group is a multidisciplinary team whose members specialize in the areas of Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Proteomics, and Bioinformatics. Presently it comprises eight University professors, one Ikerbasque Research professor, eightpredoctoral researchers and a lab technician.

The group has been working for more than a decade in the area of molecular biology of cancer, a field of great interest from both the social and biomedical research standpoints. This area is included within the "Healthy aging and quality of life" strategic line defined in the UPV/EHU Euskampus project. The research team has been recognized and funded by the Department of Education of the Basque Government as "Consolidated Group " continuously since 2001.

It is a highly collaborative and productive group, which jointly participates in severalfunded research projects, as well as in the publications derived from these projects. In addition, we have created a very active network of external collaborators, consisting of a dozen researchers of international relevance. This network is contributing to the education of our students, and facilitating the scientific progress of our group.
