Raúl Alberto Domínguez Rendón
Raúl Domínguez Rendón. BA History (specialisation in Semiotics and Hermeneutics of Art) and MA in Aesthetics with distinction, Colombia National University; PhD in Science and Technology Studies, University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU.
Currently I am researcher and coordinator of the GED-Desing Studies Group, at the School of Architecture and Desing, Pontificia Bolivariana University. Previously, I had taught at University of Antioquia and Autónoma Latinoamericana, as well as at the Metropolitan Technology Institute (ITM), Medellín, Colombia.
I was Head of Culture Communication and Head of International Relations at the Colombian National University, Bogotá and Medellín sites respectively. While at Metropolitan Institute of Technology (ITM) I was in charge of Research, Culture and National and International Relations Departments, as well as Principal Investigator of the "Science, Technology , Society and Innovation" (CTS+i) research group. At ITM I served as well as Vice-principal of Research.
I have a number of publications in journals and edited books both at the national and international level. I am the author of the books "Vestido, ostentación y cuerpos en Medellín 1900-1930" (2004), and "El diseño industrial en la sociedad de consumo: su rol en la configuración funcional y en la representación estética de los artefactos" (2010).
