Methodology
Teaching methodology:Lectures, giving a theoretical basis, are combined with other tasks of a practical nature. In the latter, tasks will be set for the students, to be carried out either individually or in small groups, always with the support of the Lecturer and Tutor. Some courses, are based on the completion of a project, where the student has to develop the ability to design, plan, search for information, propose appropriate solutions to the problem, and work as part of a team, etc. The Masters Projects are based, fundamentally, on the individual work of the student. There will be frequent and individualised tutorial guidance provided by the lecturer.Approach of the courses:In general, there is a greater emphasis placed on practical training and on self-learning on Masters courses than on a first degree course. The majority of the courses are from 3 to 6 ECTS credits, which are subdivided into: classroom-based credits, including lectures with theoretical content and practical lessons; and non-classroom-based work of the student, performed individually and/or in teams The delivery of the classroom-based modules will be carried out intensively during two or three weeks in September to May (in the afternoons). The teaching is delivered by a core of Masters lecturers with experience of research work in the area, and also includes the participation of guest lecturers.External collaboration:On some courses it is planned to include the participation of guest lecturers from other universities or from companies in the sector, so that the students are able to better understand the real world of business. On completion of the university-based studies a Masters Project will be completed in one of the collaborating companies, with one tutor from the company and another from the university.Assessment
In the majority of cases assessment is carried out in two phases: "continuous" assessment, based on the attitudes and aptitudes demonstrated by the student throughout the course; and an overall summative assessment, based on examination (20% of final evaluation), tests, written and/or oral presentation of the results of the work performed, experiments, designs, etc. The award of the Masters degree will be subject to a minimum 70% attendance.- Number of credits ECTS : 24
