Methodology

MethodologyThe MSc in Microbiology and Health is taught on a full-time basis over one year (from October to June) in the Faculties of Pharmacy, Science and Technology, and Medicine and Nursing of the University of the Basque Country as well as by using internet tools. You will take 42 credits worth of taught modules, as well as 18-crédit research project leading to a dissertation. All the methodology is based on the official University of The Basque Country regulation . (BOPV 27th November of 2006). This course requires to complete the following core modules:- Taught modules- Performance of experiments in the laboratory- Research activities - Data base managementYou can take the master in one or more years, provided that the minimum number of ECTS credits registered in the first year is 21. It is not compulsory to take a single specialty, can take courses in both specialties.Course material is delivered in a variety of ways, including lectures, practical sessions, tutorials and problem-based learning sessions.Lectures are delivered by a panel of national and international experts including University of Basque Country as well as academics from other leading institutions. Students will have the opportunity to learn state-of-the- art microbiology techniques, acquire a broad base of theoretical knowledge and gain hands-on practical experience in microbiology.

Assessment

AssessmentThis course is assessed through a variety of methods, including essays, poster presentation, oral presentations, writing a scientific paper, and exams. It will be an assessment when the first term will be finished and a final one at the end of the course. You will be expected to work independently, and as part of a group. Please note that some minor details are subject to change.
