Bachelor in Biochemistry (2002) and Doctor in Microbiology (2009) at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. She is currently an associate professor in the Faculty of Science and Technology and teaches in the subjects of “Microorgasnisms and Industrial Production” and “Virology” signatures of Biotechnology degree in the department of Immunology, Microbiology and Parasitology.
Her research work focuses on the study of magnetotactic bacteria and their possible biomedical applications. She is co-author of 22 scientific articles and one book chapter and has collaborated in 21 research projects.
