Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Navarra and PhD in Biology from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU with a fellowship from the Ministry of Education and Science. Associate Professor of Microbiology with excellent evaluation in the Docentiaz program and she is part of an IKD structured teaching team.

She has worked in different areas both in the university and in the pharmaceutical company. Her research activity in the Department of Immunology, Microbiology and Parasitology of the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing is developed in the group Candidiasis and other human infections associated with microbial biofilms (www.ehu.es/canbio) classified as a Consolidated Research Group type A of the Basque University System. In the last 10 years she has directed 4 doctoral theses, 10 masters theses, has participated in 17 competitive projects (in 5 as principal investigator), in 3 projects with companies, has published 43 articles, 8 book chapters and presented more than 100 papers at congress. She has 4 six year term tenure track recognized by the CNEAI (last 2021). Her scientific production has an h index of 24 (Orcid: 0000-0002-9043-9265).

She is a member of the Faculty Board of Medicine and Nursing, course coordinator, member of the Doctorate Commission of the Immunology, Microbiology and Parasitology Program, and member of the Board of Directors of the Asociación Española de Micología (Treasurer 2010-2018).
