Doctor in Educational Sciences and Bachelor in Pedagogy. She is a lecturer in the Department of Theory and History of Education at the University of the Basque Country. She teaches in the Degree of Social Education in the Faculty of Education of Bilbao. Since 2002, she has held various positions on the Board of Directors of the Society of Medical Education of the Basque Country (SEMDE).
He has participated in various research and educational innovation projects that have had as a horizon the transformation of the practices of professionals. These include: 1) Educational innovation and teacher professional development; 2) Analysis, revision and design of curricular programmes based on competences; 3) Analysis of institutional proposals that promote change in the University and 4) Medical Education.
Since 2006, she has been participating as a visiting professor and advisor on projects related to curricular change in various Latin American Institutions of Higher Education and Specialized Training in the field of Health Sciences: Department of Education in Health Sciences. Universidad de Chile (2006-2011), Universidad de Valparaíso (Chile, 2012), Universidad Central (Chile, 2010), Universidad Católica de Paraguay (2014), Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Universidad Nacional del Este (Paraguay, 2017), Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de Paraguay (Paraguay, 2014-2019).
Author of more than 47 publications in journals and books on Education and Medical Education. These publications focus on topics related to Higher Education and Training of Specialists-Resident doctor (in Spanish-MIR-). The topics are diverse: training in Competences, transversal competences and curricular change, educational innovation and institutional change, Professional Values, Professionalism, Management and training the tutors of resident doctors, etc.
