Her core research interests have primarily been literacy, popular education, and the history of education in the Basque Country. She has published some works focused on the history of basque literacy. She is currently participating in a project on the Basque historical model of vocational training.
Another of his lines of research has been related to the development of cross-curricular skills in both higher education and vocational training. Some of her studies have focused on the development of creative learning and lifelong learning. From 2008-2011, she took part in a European project for CREANOVA, the Creative learning and Networking for European Innovation, which was funded by the EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency).
For the last years she has led two research projects on developing cross-curricular skills at two educational levels: higher education (specially focused on education studies) and vocational training, in collaboration with Tknika (the Centre for Innovation in Vocational Training). Both research projects are included in one of the research areas of the Ikasgura research group’s work of which it is a member from its origins.
