Graduate in Mathematics (1994) and Doctor Europeus in Matemathics by the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) (2007), Leire Legarreta is nowadays an Assistant Professor in the UPV/EHU, where she has practiced her work since 1995. She acted as academic secretary of the Mathematics’ Department (2013-17), and since 2011 she is a member of the committee of the Basque language of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology (EHU).
She taught in more than 8 courses, in all the degrees of Sciences, and in the Inter-University Master in Modeling and Mathematical Research, Statistics and Computer Sciences, being the responsible in the courses of “Codes and Cryptography” and “Groups and Representations”.
Her research topics are focused on Group Theory, Representation Theory, Combinatorial and Combinatorial applied to group theory. She has been visiting research institutes as the University of L’Aquila (2002-2005), of Salerno (2003-2004-2012), and of Sapienza (2016). She has taken part in the LLP/ERASMUS programme, teaching doctorate courses in the University of Salerno (2013-2014), L’Aquila (2015) and Birmingham (2016).
She is coathor of 18 scientific papers in Algebra, of 6 book’s chapters and of more than 25 oral communications in national and international conferences. She has taken part in more than 20 research projects, 4 educational innovation projects, being in 2 of them the main coordinator, and in several evaluation tasks.
