Programme

The research teams have suitable spaces for the work of the doctoral students in their research laboratories in the departmental sections. In addition, the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Bilbao, the headquarters of the department applying for the accreditation of the program, has suitable classrooms and seminar rooms for all the activities envisaged in the doctoral program.

The program will use the teaching and research resources of the Department of Systems and Automation Engineering of the UPV/EHU, including the teaching and research laboratories of the department with their corresponding instrumentation and licenses for programs for the design, analysis and simulation of control systems by computer. The above laboratories are described in more detail below. In addition, there is the Library and the reading rooms of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Bilbao of the UPV/EHU. As shown by the years of existence of the doctoral program from which the one presented in this Explanatory Report is derived, these resources are sufficient for any suitable candidate to successfully complete a doctoral thesis in the field of Control Engineering and Automation. More specifically, the laboratories available are P3B4L, P3B6L, P3B7 and P3B11.

Apart from the Central University Library, which has about a million volumes and subscriptions to more than 17,000 journals, the Higher Technical School of Engineering also has its own library, where the doctoral students can view or borrow any of the volumes available at the University and request journal articles on the University website. The research teams also have small libraries with journals regularly used in their lines of research and an extensive collection of conference proceedings and doctoral theses from recent years.
