Description
The student who needs to do so will acquire the ability to handle calculation codes such as MCNP/MCNPX, SCALE, COMSOL, FLUENT, etc. and experimental techniques such as AMS and Particle Beam Diagnosis, without which it would be difficult to successfully complete his or her doctoral thesis.
Results
The student will be able to function in the field of work he or she has selected.
Assessment systems
The certificate of attendance will be sufficient to consider that the student has benefited from the course and that he or she has acquired the intended skills. This will be verified by the professor who recommended attendance of the course.

Description
Attendance at a national conference. If no financial resources were available there would be a day with the presentation of papers in the field of the doctoral program.
Results
The student will acquire the ability to function in the field of research and development, being able to participate in and contribute to scientific meetings.
Assessment systems
If the paper is admitted, a certificate issued by the organizing committee of the meeting or conference, or by a person competent to do so, stating that the candidate has presented the paper will be required to regard the activity has having been satisfactorily conducted. In the case of activities on the program, the coordinator of the activity will quantitatively assess the degree of achievement of the envisaged goal, namely the ability to prepare a paper of an acceptable quality.

Description
In a seminar-style environment, with a debate directed by a professor and/or a member of a company, a report to request funding will be prepared, which need not necessarily be geared towards the public sector, as it can be aimed at the higher levels of a company, in order to prepare a project in research, development or innovation.
Results
The student will acquire the ability to work in the field of knowledge development and product development, with knowledge of the meaning and management of intellectual property.
Assessment systems
The seminar director will quantitatively assess the degree of achievement of the envisaged goal, namely the ability to prepare an application for the funding of a research project.

Description
This activity envisages the following actions: - Publication by the Academic Committee of the Program of the possibilities offered by groups of universities and external centres for conducting research stays for doctoral students. - Updates, on the web page of the Master's and Doctoral School of the UPV/EHU (MDe) of the information relating to aids for the conducting of stays and doctorates in co-tutorship with reference universities and centres. In any case, the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program will be responsible for approving each mobility action proposal. The proposal should include at least, as minimum information, the following points: - Doctoral student who will perform the stay. - Objectives of the action. - Time planning. - Contact person responsible for the destination centre.
Results
The following learning results are established for the activity: - Acquiring the ability to work in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments. - Acquiring the ability to communicate in other languages within a research group. - Acquiring the social skills to work in collaboration with researchers with cultural backgrounds and researchers very different from the doctoral student. - Acquiring skills for establishing mid/long term useful research contacts.
Assessment systems
The thesis directors will be responsible for ensuring control of the following deliverables: - Certificate of the stay performed by the doctoral student. - Report on the activities conducted during the stay, signed by the student and the supervisor of the activity. - Joint publications and papers which have arisen from the stay. - For student stays lasting longer than 3 months at foreign universities and centres, a proposal for the realization of an international thesis.
