Description
Making a predoctoral stay at a renowned foreign research centre allowing doctoral students to participate in research experiences in other environments, collecting theoretical and / or experimental data and developing and / or contrasting calculation methods to be used in their doctoral thesis. Doctoral students must participate in activities of the host centre related to their doctoral thesis. Both full-time and part-time students can undertake this stay continuously or in three different periods, i.e. in three alternate months.
Results
Ability to design and conduct theoretical, experimental or methodological work in the field of the research lines of the thesis. Working both as a team and independently in an international and multidisciplinary context.
Assessment systems
Monthly report of activities and end of stay report made by students and approved by the director of the thesis. Certificate of stay and favourable report of the activity conducted, issued by the principal investigator of the host centre research team.

Description
PhD students will present the results of their research in the stands presented by their respective research groups at the Science and Technology Week, an activity organised annually by the UPV / EHU and the Uvigo.
Results
To communicate with society in general on the actual areas of knowledge of Engineering and Architecture.
Assessment systems
The tutor will supervise and authorise, where appropriate, the work presented by students at the science and technology week, their participation in this activity and the report of the tutor on the work done will be recorded in the document of activities of the doctoral student.

Description
The Doctoral Programme will organise two specific courses on core research activities: the first will address the search of bibliographic references and create their own databases from those searches, and the second will train students in the incorporation of references to scientific texts. To complete this training, students will need to work under the supervision of the tutor, on a scientific article and a presentation on the state of the art of a subject set by the tutor.
Results
-Ability to develop knowledge and make original contributions in the field of energy efficiency and sustainability expanding the frontiers of knowledge. -Ability to communicate with the academic and scientific community on their areas of knowledge in the ways and languages commonly used in the international scientific community. -Communicating with colleagues, with the academic community as a whole on the areas of knowledge inherent to architecture engineering. -Ability to apply knowledge developed into practice for publication in national or international media. -Making a critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new and complex ideas in the field of engineering and architecture. Designing, creating, developing and launching new and innovative projects in their field of knowledge.
Assessment systems
The implementation of these activities and the report to be issued by the tutor on the completion work of this activity will be recorded in the document of activities of the doctoral student, who will be required to have participated therein and shall have a favourable report from the tutor to be eligible to present the doctoral thesis.
