The Chair in International Studies has as its purpose to contribute to the creation of expert knowledge about international reality. This knowledge, in the form of ideas and projects, not only aims to improve the understanding of this reality, but also to improve the actions of Basque society in a globalised world. In the pursuit of its purpose, the Chair will act in accordance with the following principles:

• interdisciplinarity and internationalisation of its activities
• close linkages with the surrounding society
