The Editorial Service of the UPV/EHU, dependent on the Vice-Rectorate for the Basque Language, is responsible for programming and carrying out all types of editions and co-editions of printed, digital and audio-visual material and any other media, for the dissemination of scientific, technical and artistic work or of any other type of work that may be of interest.

According to the regulations approved by the Governing Board of the UPV/EHU, "the Editorial Service is the sole publisher of the University of the Basque Country. To this end, no Department, Centre, Institute, Service or any other structure of the UPV/EHU may edit, sporadically or in serial format, books, scientific journals or publishing products under names, brand names, symbols or any other sign of identity of the UPV/EHU, without the express authorization of the Vice-Rector".

The most important aims of the Editorial Service are the contribution, through its editorial production, to the advancement of education, teaching, research and culture in the University of the Basque Country, giving special attention to the material presented in Euskara, the Basque language.

In order to achieve the aforementioned aims, the Editorial Service is made up of a human team which is organized into two areas:

•     The editorial area itself: this is mainly responsible for boosting the editorial process with the publication proposals received (from the reception of originals to the distribution of published works).
•     The reprographic area: as well as helping the editorial process, this offers the University Community of the Bizkaia Campus and the UPV/EHU in general a printing and reprographic service.
