- Description:
In the automotive industry, component suppliers must adapt to new market trends, especially in electronics. The lack of studies on how traditional suppliers can integrate this discipline into their business leaves a gap in scientific research. This work seeks to provide a methodology for the transition from mechanical to mechatronic components. Three options for introducing electronics are proposed, with a focus on structural and technological changes. A case study on a brake pedal is used to validate the methodology and promote technological adoption. Brake-by-Wire technology is investigated, highlighting its potential to redefine industrial standards and reach new customers. It is expected that this methodology will be replicable for other companies.
