Distributed and Interoperable Computing for Real-time Artificial Intelligence in Smart Factories (PILAR)
- Company / Centre:
- -
- Period:
- from 2020 to 2022
- Description:
-
Virtualize two areas: 1) The processes of implementing and testing new applications. Using digital models of machines and processes instead of real ones, in order to test new services and algorithms before deploying them, thus avoiding costly testing and downtime. 2) Processing infrastructure. Tools to emulate traditional processing equipment, executing the code of several virtual PLCs on a single computing node. Thus, they speed up development, reduce the cost of scaling and allow the introduction of advanced algorithms and control techniques.
