M. Juncal Gutierrez Mangado (b. Andoain, 1968) holds an undergraduate degree in English Philology from the University of Deusto (1997) and a PhD, also in English Philology, from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (2005). She is currently aggregate professor at the Department of English and German Philology, Translation and Interpreting in Vitoria/Gasteiz, where she teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. She holds two six-year terms as a researcher. Her research is centred on language acquisition, and she has co-edited and published 5 books and over 20 scientific papers in national and international journals. She has taken part in over 10 competitive research projects at national and European levels. She is a member of the committee for the Master's Degree in Language Acquisition in Multilingual Contexts (LAMS), the PhD committee for the Master's Degree in Theoretical and Experimental Linguistics (both at UPV/EHU) and the Language and Speech (LASLAB) research group, recognised by the Basque Government as a type A consolidated research group. She has also been Director of Mobility at UPV/EHU.
