Hybrid Intelligent Systems on LogisticsContents of the sessionHybrid Artificial Intelligent Systems (HAIS) try to deal with the complexity of real world phenomena using a multidisciplinary approach and a plurality of techniques. HAIS represent an attractive approach to address logistics problems (and the plethora of problems related to this topic) which are inherently complex and usually difficult to model using classical methods. Logistics management issues include network configuration, production planning, inventory control, procurement strategies, and integration of production, inventory and transportation decisions, vehicle fleet management, truck routing and packing problems. Many of these issues revolve around extremely difficult optimization problems (usually in the class of NP-hard problems) for which heuristics able to determine an approximate solution using limited resources are required. This special session is aimed at discussing research on HAIS working with Bioinspired Algorithms, using any Bioinspired artificial intelligence technique like Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Cultural Algorithms (CAs), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Evolutionary Differential Algorithms and others to address diverse logistics problems such as vehicle routing, traveling sales, scheduling, bin packing and planning problems. The focus is on the application of HAIS to real-world complex problems from logistics. Topics:
ContributionsOriginal contributions are sought in the area of the topics covered by this special session. All submissions will be refereed by experts in the field based on originality, significance, quality and clarity. Every submitted paper to HAIS'10 will be reviewed by at least two members of the Program Committee. Papers must be prepared according to the LNCS-LNAI styletemplate (see: http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html) and must be no more than 8 pages long, including figures and bibliography. NOTICE: At least one author of each accepted paper must register in order for the paper to be included in the HAIS 2010 Proceedings. Authors are requested to submit their contributions through the HAIS'10 paper submission page and also email a copy to the chair of this special session (PDF format). The best papers of this Special Session will be included in a special issue of the journal:
