Goals and Objectives
1. Develop novel research on ecological and evolutionary patterns and processes, using a diverse toolkit of molecular techniques.
The laboratory is a facility for examining phenomena such as gene flow, local adaptation to environment, hybridization, microbial community variation, and evolutionary relationships among taxa.
2. Provide a research environment for training students in the molecular tools that can be used in ecology and evolution.
The laboratory serves as a modern, well-equipped facility for the development of collaborative student research, in which students enrolled in UPV degree programs or on formal exchanges to the UPV from other institutions can develop substantial autonomy as their skills increase.
3. Enable collaborative research, both within the UPV, and nationally and internationally.
The laboratory provides capacity to support collaborative research, in which researchers with standing affiliation with the laboratory are full contributors to the development and execution of collaborative work.
