Irakasgaiaren Azalpena eta Testuingurua zehazteaToggle Navigation

Electrical energy cannot be stored as easily as coal or barrels of oil. Once produced at the power plants, it must begin its journey through high voltage lines to the consumption centers. To transport the electrical energy produced in the generating plants to the consumption centers (generally located at great distances from the plants), it is necessary to use a high-voltage transmission network. The transport of electrical energy over long distances involves a particular technology: it must be done with the highest possible voltage, to reduce losses in the lines to a minimum.

To take this subject (3rd year, 2nd semester) it is recommended to have taken and passed the following subjects:

- Fundamentals of Electrical Technology (2nd course, annual).

- Low and Medium Voltage Installations (3rd year, 1st semester)

Gaitasunak / Irakasgaia Ikastearen EmaitzakToggle Navigation

- To know, describe precisely and know how to use the elements of High Voltage electrical installations.

- To know, understand and describe carefully, orally and in writing, the terms of the facilities

High Voltage electrical systems as well as knowing the existence and knowing how to rigorously apply the rules, regulations,

recommendations, etc. of application in the design of High Voltage electrical installations.

- To design with rigor, adopting the appropriate decision and knowing how to calculate accurately based on issues of type technical and economic High Voltage electrical installations. Have the ability to communicate, discuss and defend with

clarity of the design and calculation carried out.

- To have the ability to critically analyze and discuss problems specific to High Voltage electrical installations.

- To have the ability to make measurements, analyze them, discuss them, and after analyzing the corresponding calculations rigorously issue the corresponding report or feasibility study.

Laboratory practices.

- Perform calculations of different electrical systems using DigiSilent's PowerFactory software and/or ETAP.

- Carry out practices on overcurrent and distance protections in different situations using the software PowerFactory and/or ETAP.

- Use of the DmElect software for the calculation of high voltage networks and transformation centers.

MetodologiaToggle Navigation

In the master modality, brief presentations will be given by the teacher, using presentations and various documentation available to students on the eGela platform as support material.

The resolution of issues and problems will be carried out in a participatory manner. Problems and exercises will be provided that students will develop individually or in groups. The formulation of questions and open discussion will be encouraged, so that students acquire skills related to oral and written communication and the ability to synthesize and criticize. In computer practices, DigiSilent's PowerFactory software and DmElect software will be used to solve and simulate these problems.

To facilitate and ensure student learning, the issues, problems and computer practices carried out by students will be monitored. Feedback will be provided based on previously established evaluation criteria, so that students have the opportunity to become aware of their learning, as well as ways to improve it.

Students may use any of these two evaluation methods:

1. Continuous evaluation. In this case the final grade will be obtained as follows:

- Final exam: 70%. It will consist of a multiple choice test (20%) and a written test to be developed (50%), which includes the use of the software used in computer practices.

- Carrying out computer practices (exercises, cases or problems): 20%

- Individual works: 10%

To pass the subject, in each of the sections that make up the final grade you must obtain at least 40% of its maximum value. Likewise, in the final test it is necessary to obtain 40% of its value in both the theoretical part and in that of problems. To pass the subject, the final grade is required to be equal to or greater than 5.

2. Final evaluation. In this case the final grade will be obtained as follows:

- Final exam: 100%. It will consist of a multiple choice test (20%) and a written test to be developed (80%), which includes the use of the software used in computer practices.

To pass the subject, in this test it is necessary to obtain 40% of its value in both the theoretical part and the of problems and that the total weighted grade is equal to or greater than 5.

To waive continuous evaluation, students will have to write to the teacher before the start of the week 10 of the semester.

To resign from the call, it will be enough to not appear for the final test. In that case the rating will be "No Presented".

If any student, for a justified reason (disability, health problems, etc.) could not follow the proposed evaluation method, you must communicate it in writing to the teacher, providing the documents necessary accreditations before the beginning of the semester. In that case, the necessary changes will be made to the

assessment.

The weighting corresponding to the continuous evaluation will be applied to the students who have obtained positive results in laboratory practices and individual work; To the rest of the students the corresponding to the final evaluation.

The general evaluation criteria are the same as those of the ordinary call.

To resign from the call, it will be enough to not appear for the final test. In that case the rating will be "No Presented".

If any student, for a justified reason (disability, health problems, etc.) could not follow the

proposed evaluation method, you must communicate it in writing to the teacher, providing the supporting documents necessary before the beginning of the semester. In that case, the necessary changes will be made to the evaluation.
