University Masters in Social and Solidarity Economy

 

The University Masters in Social and Solidarity Economy is an official master’s course offered by the UPV/EHU and promoted by the GEZKI Institute, which is responsible for the course. Collaborating in the organisation of the master’s course are the Hegoa Institute, University School of Labour Relations, University School of Business Studies of San Sebastian, and the Departments of Applied Economics I and Company Law, all bodies of the UPV/EHU.

The activities carried out within the framework of the social and solidarity economy require professionals with solid academic and scientific training. This master’s course will allow students to acquire the theoretical and professional knowledge necessary to work in entities in this sector: cooperatives, labour societies, special employment centres, insertion companies, etc.

The university masters in Social and Solidarity Economy offers theoretical and professional training and is the only official masters of its kind in the Spanish university system. The qualification obtained by students who achieve the master’s degree has Level-3 accreditation of the Spanish Framework of Qualifications for Higher Education (MECES); this level is equivalent to, pursuant to Decree-Law 22/2015 of 23 January (BOE 07/02 /2015), Level 7 of the European Framework of Qualifications (EFQ).
