Oihana Iglesias Carrillo

BA Philosophy (University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU), MA Philosophy, Science and Values (UPV/EHU). Currently, Oihana is a PhD student in the Philosophy, Science and Values PhD program and research trainee funded by UPV/EHU (since 2022) under the co-direction of Remedios Zafra and Andoni Ibarra.

Her dissertation project aims to understand how technologies like Tinder influence the contemporary development of love through an anticipatory lens—essentially, how Tinder shapes the futures of love. To achieve this, she employs a co-constructive hermeneutic approach to unveil potential future scenarios for Tinder, drawing on diverse perspectives. This project seeks to open loves, futures and technologies.

As a member of PRAXIS research group, she collaborates within the project “Responsible emerging technologies: the construction of socio-technical futures through open anticipatory governance (TERGA)”, led by Andoni Ibarra and Hannot Rodríguez. Moreover, she is an active participant in the working group of the I+D+I project "Gender and Technological Culture from Art and Representation" (GECULTEC), led by Remedios Zafra; which continues the critical analysis of the gender representations in delimited Internet scenarios. She is also a member of the Future Studies Laboratory, at the University of Alcalá, Madrid (2023-present), a space for theoretical, philosophical and artistic experimentation to reflect on the production of speculative imaginaries. Last but not least, she collaborates on the Editorial Committee of the digital magazine Trépanos, which aims to disseminate the most fundamental issues of science, art and literature.
