Maite Arraiza Zabalegi
Bio
I graduated in Philosophy at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). After pursuing a master’s degree in Teacher Training for Compulsory Secondary Education, Upper Secondary Education, Vocational Training and Foreign Language Teaching (UPV/EHU), I pursued my doctoral studies in the programme “Philosophy, Science and Values” (UPV/EHU). I defended my international doctoral dissertation “The co-constitution of technobodies’ sex-gendered materiality: multiple trans* becomings” in 2020 (UPV/EHU).
I participated in the project “Representación y anticipación: modelización interventiva RRI en las ciencias y técnicas emergentes” (FFI-2015-6979-R, FEDER-MINECO), 2016-2019, Donosti (UPV/EHU).
My research interests are mainly located in the intersection between feminist philosophy, trans studies, philosophy of science and technology and environmental studies. The topics include the processes of constitution of sex-gendered materiality, the relationship between sex, gender and other differences, brain sex theory, feminist neuroscience, endocrine disrupting chemicals and their relationship with sex-gender, the relationship between power, technology and capital.
I combine my theoretical feminist research with feminist activism.
