KEY FACTS ABOUT THE DEGREE PROGRAMME
This degree programme responds to the need to recognise the rights of boys, girls and adolescents to be protected from any type of violence. As a result of the new Organic Law for Protection of Children and Adolescents against violence, new positions have emerged in different contexts of formal and non-formal education (coordinator of well-being and protection, protection officer) with the aim to build a community and protective environments in the fields of sport, education and socio-education.
In keeping with current regulations, this postgraduate degree strives to:
- Train professionals who are able to provide the best possible care and to prevent situations of violence, abuse or violation of the rights of children and adolescents.
- Make students familiar with the regulatory framework on the protection of children and adolescents and connect that framework with the different fields of action.
- Offer a response to the multidimensional nature of the different types of violence that exist against children and adolescents.
- Work to design all actions necessary to mitigate the impact caused to minors, by developing preventive, follow-up and early risk detection measures.
- Recognise good practices for protection of minors and identify preventive interventions.
- Be able to design, develop and evaluate processes and have tools available to resolve conflicts.
