Description The aim is to develop new thermal and catalytic processes and improve those operating in industry in order to obtain fuels and value-added products from sustainable sources alternative to oil, as well as to intensify oil valorisation by following environmentally sustainable routes. These routes are framed within the Bio-refinery and Waste-refinery platforms and they bear in mind the challenges involving changes in the present energy model by using CO2 as fuel source, H2 production and the valorisation of biomass and consumer society wastes (plastics and tires). The processes are studied from a low scale accounting for physical and chemical processes to demonstration units. Therefore, the whole scaling process is approached, i.e., basic knowledge and methodology, kinetic modelling, design and simulation of process units. |
