COUPLED MULTISPECTROSCOPY SINGULAR LABORATORY (Raman-LASPEA)
Areas of application
RESEARCH APPLICATIONS
The infrastructure available in the Singular Coupled Multispectroscopy Laboratory (Raman-LASPEA) allows testing in several scientific and technical areas. In principle, any covalent material is capable of being analyzed by Raman and FTIR. The following are some of the areas of application
-
Earth Sciences (Geochemistry)
Characterization of rocks and mineral phases (defects, inclusions, etc..)
Gemstone Identification
Sludge Study -
Fine Arts and Humanities
Characterization of pigments and binders in works of art (paintings, sculptures, etc.)
Study of stratigraphic -
Materials Science
Analysis of new polymers
Inorganic compound with special properties
Study of the structure and functionalisation of nanoparticles -
Engineering and Environment
Pollution sources and mechanisms
Process and chemical reactions monitoring
Characterization and development of catalysts -
Prehistory and Ancient History
Studies of source and processing techniques of archaeological materials.
Corrosion of metal objects (coins, weapons, etc..)
Fossils
Glass and ceramics (enamels, pigments, etc.)
Biomaterials (bones, ivory, amber, etc.) -
Biomedicine
Study of cancer cells
Identification of kidney stones
Characterization of atherosclerotic plaques -
Pharmaceutical Analysis
Identification of active ingredients and excipients in several formulations
Polymorphism Studies
USERS
The Singular Coupled Multispectroscopy Laboratory (LASPEA) aims to service the widest possible range of users, both internal and external, and developing all kinds of applications. Thanks to the existing infrastructure, it is possible to design custom analysis, making it possible to serve a greater number of researchers.
RESULTS
Analyses were carried out as part of investigations of several Doctoral Theses, Dissertations, Bachelor Theses and Master Thesis in the University of the Basque Country, as well as studies conducted by professors from the same university in the framework of research projects. The results have been sent to various scientific meetings and / or published in international journals.
