Summary

Industrial Organization Engineer from the University of Navarra (Tecnun), Master in Construction Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV) and PhD in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (EHU/UPV). In his Doctoral Thesis, he developed an innovative performance evaluation model, specific for companies in the construction sector.

Before beginning his teaching and research work at the University of the Basque Country in 2010, he worked as an intern at Hellenic Post (Greece, 4 months) and at Topshare International BV (The Netherlands, 6 months) and was awarded a Training of Experts in Foreign Trade of the Basque Government. Through this contract, he worked at the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Lisbon (Portugal) for 10 months and at IDOM Engenharia e Consultoria, Lda. in Lisbon (Portugal) for 6 months. He also worked as an Engineer in the International Department of IDOM Engineering and Consulting S.A. (2009-2010), in the identification of international engineering projects and in the preparation of expressions of interest and bids in the case of projects of interest.

He is currently an assistant professor at the School of Engineering of Gipuzkoa (Donostia) within the Department of Business Organization. He focuses his teaching activity in the areas of Business Organization in the construction sector and Building Quality, within the degree in Technical Architecture. Regarding research, he has focused his work on the study of the management of companies in the construction sector (including quality management) and in the field of evaluation and quantification of the level of sustainability of projects and construction materials, with the aim of promoting the use of sustainable, quality materials with a low associated carbon footprint, such as timber. Regarding his scientific production, he is co-author of 13 articles published in journals included in the JCR database and 11 papers at international conferences.
