Summary

PhD. in Industrial Engineering since 1998, carrying out professional research and teaching tasks in the second and third cycles, as well as Director - coordinator of the Master's Degree in Construction Engineering at the UPV/EHU since 2010 and Coordinator of the Master's degree in Industrial Engineering since 2016.

University Professor at the Engineering School of Bilbao since January 2003. Since 1992 he has been integrated into the Construction Engineering Area, teaching subjects in the Degrees of Industrial Technologies; Industrial Organization and Environmental Engineerings; as well as in the Masters of Industrial Engineering, Construction Engineering, and Safety and Health Prevention.

He shares teaching with research work, currently forming part of the Consolidated Research Group of the Basque Government SAREN, whose lines of research focus on the comprehensive sustainability of building systems and their materials. The research activity is related to R+D+i, according to the lines of research: study of the analysis of sustainable value in the life cycle of industrial buildings; innovation in construction materials, with special attention to structural wood in the building envelope; as well as in energy efficiency and innovation of architectural enclosures.

Between 2005 and 2013 he has been the main researcher of the UPV / EHU sub-projects in national research projects (MIVES: Integrated Value Model of Sustainable Elements). He has also been a principal investigator in University-Company projects, in the field of applied research in the search for innovative construction solutions under sustainability parameters. Since 2000 he has been director and co-director of (9) doctoral theses. He is currently directing (2) Doctoral Theses.

He is the author of (29) indexed articles with scientific impact between the years 2003 to 2021. He is a reviewer of articles for indexed journals. Much of his research activity has been reflected in (41) communications and (20) attendance at conferences. He is also co-author of 12 publications (books) on various topics in Construction Engineering.
