CV summary
Florencia Barreto-Zarza is a PhD in Psychology and graduated in Psychopedagogy, specialised in the field of family context, positive parenting and child psychological development. During her predoctoral training she did her research stay at the University of Cambridge. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Basic Psychological Processes and their Development at the University of the Basque Country, UPV/EHU. She is a member of the research groups HAEZI of the UPV/EHU, also of the Environmental Epidemiology and Child Development group of the Biodonostia Research Institute, and of the INMA Project (Childhood and Environment). In the applied field and knowledge transfer, she is currently collaborating with the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council and the Spanish Red Cross in research projects focused on positive parenting and child development.
Research lines
<ul><li>Early detection of family protective and risk factors influencing psychological development, focusing specifically on self- regulation processes.</li>
<li>Family empowerment in healthy parenting patterns which is carried out through: (I) the design and validation of family context assessment protocols; (II) the design and validation of evidence-based intervention programmes for the promotion of parenting skills; (III) the training of professionals in the educational, social and health fields; (IV) the dissemination of positive parenting messages to the general population; and (V) support for the design of policy measures on positive parenting and child development.</li>
