Methodology
Master`s Degree in International StudiesIt constitutes the training part of the Postgraduate Degrees. It includes 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) and it is carried out in an academic year. It is also possible to complete it in two academic years.Structure of the Master`s DegreeIt is divided into five modules. The first four modules comprise courses and seminars. At this stage, the student must achieve 44 ECTS. The fifth module consists on a Dissertation, worth 16 ECTS.The courses take place in two four-month terms. The first one starts in September, until mid-January; and the second one from mid-January to mid-May.Afterwards, the research period starts, until end-July. During this time, the students will produce a final Dissertation, which will be defended in September.Assessment
Each course is marked according to different criteria: attendance; participation; presentations; essays and coursework. The percentage of each of them involved in the final mark will depend on the professors. Passing a course (from Pass to A) implies getting the credits associated to it. If a course is "Not taken" or Fail, the consequence is not getting these credits. In addition to this, the Master`s final Dissertation (worth 16 credits), is defended in front of a Board of Professors. This Board will mark it taking into account the previous report done by the Dissertation supervisor.Every student gets the corresponding final average mark for the whole Master based on the marks obtained for the different modules and the Dissertation.- Number of credits ECTS : 16
