I am a plant physiologist, particularly interested in greenhouse gas emissions in agroecosystems and the use of plant growth-promoting microorganisms. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Biology in 2002 and completed my Ph.D. in Sciences in 2008 at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU. My doctoral thesis received the XVI Félix Mocoroa Award and was honored with a mention in the 13th Fertiberia Award. Currently, I am a substitute professor at the Faculty of Science and Technology, as well as at the Faculty of Pharmacy of UPV/EHU, teaching in the Biology and Environmental Sciences undergraduate programs, and the Master's program in Environmental Agrobiology. I have participated in 18 funded projects and 11 University-Industry Research contracts, where I currently serve as the principal investigator. I am a member of the Nutrition Management in Plant and Soils (NUMAPS) research group (Group A in the Basque University System), focusing on improving nitrogen use efficiency in agroecosystems within a circular economy framework. I am co-author of 28 publications, all international peer-reviewed articles, with 26 of them being Q1. Additionally, I have contributed to 11 book chapters, presented at 61 national and international conferences, and currently co-supervise two Ph.D. theses in the Environmental Agrobiology doctoral program, of which I am a faculty member.
